About
the Passover Trilogy Messianic Haggadah
Haggadah
means “the telling,” which means it
pretty much speaks for itself! It refers to the traditional booklet used to
annually tell the story of our exodus from Egypt, and of God’s faithfulness to
deliver His people by a mighty hand and outstretched arm. The style and content
of the haggadah has changed over the millennia of its
use, reflecting the cultural variations and customs of our people throughout our
historical world wanderings. The events of the Passover story have been retold
for thousands of years. It speaks of miraculous transformations and transitions
in the cycle of life — from slavery to freedom, from despair to hope, from
weeping to joy, and from darkness to light. The message of Passover is not
limited just to the Jewish people, but to all who would seek Him, and the
eternal truth that can set all people free.
Since many of the
customs embodied within the text of the modern-day
haggadah are stated to have been introduced
around the first century C.E., and since Passover is traditionally one of the
most messianic of all the moedim (appointed times), it seems very
appropriate to look at the details of Messiah’s
Seder as an important historical Jewish
parallel to our celebration.
The Passover Trilogy Messianic
Haggadah was birthed out of a need voiced by many in the
worldwide Messianic Jewish community, who were looking for a traditional Jewish
haggadah that was
effective and easy to use. It needed to have the fit, feel, and finish of the
traditional seder
experience, which was so well known to our people in the subsequent generations that
followed the exodus from Egypt. They also wanted a haggadah that would effectively convey the
important Messianic Jewish significance presented in the Messiah Yeshua’s last
seder, which he ate
with his Jewish talmidim (disciples) nearly 2000 years ago.
Following the Jewish tradition of having our haggadah open from right to left is only the
first noticeable distinction that sets the Passover Trilogy Messianic
Haggadah apart from
every other Messianic haggadah on the market today. Simplicity of
design, ease of use, and an ability to make everyone at the
seder table feel
comfortable with the telling, are features everyone will appreciate,
as we embark on this annual Passover journey together.
Ever since the publication
of the Passover Trilogy Messianic Haggadah three years ago, we have
been pleasantly overwhelmed by the large number of great responses and glowing
comments we have received concerning what some are calling a revolutionary
new approach to the Passover presentation. In its first year of
limited distribution, over 15 congregations successfully used our
haggadah to rave reviews. That
number more than doubled in the next year, with thousands of individuals also
purchasing our haggadot (plural of
haggadah) for their home
seders.
The Passover Trilogy
Messianic Haggadah was primarily written for
a Jewish audience, but to our amazement, even church leaders and their
congregants are purchasing our haggadah to enhance their
understanding of this special season. Through this authentic Jewish experience,
they are discovering a new and exciting connection to the roots of their faith
as they participate in their annual congregational
seders.
While most Messianic Leaders have no
trouble leading great seders regardless of the tools, the real success
of this haggadah is
seen in how easily the seder can be comfortably and effectively led
by people in their own homes as well. There is no dilution of the original
foundation of the Passover story which is to be observed forever and
throughout all generations. No more need to skip
this or avoid
that, or to question
where and when all the interesting Messianic parallels come in. Everything is
simple, easy to follow, and filled with a deep sense of God’s presence and love.
It is guaranteed to make a positive lasting impression upon all who
participate.
